Re: Forum buttons, are there too many?
A menu of buttons would be fine. As right now, it is hard to find anything you want in that line. I personally would like the extra organization so I don't have to keep throwing my cursor accoss the screen several times to find the option I am looking for.

Re: Forum buttons, are there too many?
I'm in the process of looking into a javascript drop-down tutorial for this purpose. If anyone has a suggestion, feel free to provide it here.

How about using dynamic drive?

This gives you the option of being able to hover or click, your choice.

Just use suckerfish! It's what everyone else uses, it's the standard method, and absolutely noone will get confused by it. And it's really easy.

I think we should just keep it to clicking. Else you'll get them to open up whenever you get close, even if you don't mean to. Makes it look chaotic.

Re: Forum buttons, are there too many?
They're referring to things like drop-down menus that activate when you "hover" your mouse cursor over them.

oh yeah, I think i mentioned that... but I prefer to say "when you hold your mouse over", longer, but more clear as to the meaning. ANyway, hover would be good to implement, as long as it's only like a second of waiting.

'Mouse Overs' activate instantly (obviously depends on connection) which is the problem. if you are meaning to just go past the button it will still create the drop down box. a single click drop down would mean you open it you would have to physically select it, stopping any annoyances from it opening without intent.

true, very true, and we could argue which one is better until the cows come home. It's all a matter of preference.

Re: Forum buttons, are there too many?
Hover options are not really annoying. However I would rather have clicking because I would not want it to accidentally interfere with an arcade game during play.
So I choose clicking.
