Regarding the site downtime on August 7th |

As those of you who received the newsletter I sent out already know, we were forced to relocate GU's BBS to a different location on the server as a result of the host getting upset over a huge load we were making because of a topic being submitted to digg.com.
I knew to check for this as a result of a similar incident on my personal host (which is hosted by the same company), and worked to restore what I could without Jim, as he was asleep when I figured out what to do.
Basically, what happened was every person that looked at the article on digg was redirected to...

The Nintendo Community Fangame Convention (NCFC) is now open for pre-registration. For those who don't know, NCFC is an online convention-styled event for Nintendo fangame creators. The convention takes place over the course of five days and features fangames, workshops, chats, a radio program, a guest Q&A, and other special events. We were indirectly involved last year by linking to the NCFC from our homepage, but we've taken a slightly more involved role this year. Feel free to take a look at the site and see what they have to offer!

Now for the first time all the arcade scores have been resetted. Go have fun and see how many scores you can gobble up and keep for the following 3 months.  Next resetting will be 4th October.

Apparent hacking |

According to Mystara, we had a member join recently that was somehow an admin, who backed up the database before logging off. I strongly urge everyone to change their passwords, just to be on the safe side. His IP address doesn't match anyone's, so we don't know who it was or why they decided to copy our database.
